Client scope

The application controls an Android VPN connection

Eithel imports a connection profile issued by a service provider or an organization's administrator. The profile determines the VPN endpoint, cryptographic parameters, routes, DNS configuration, and optional rule sources used by the client.

The Android application does not create a service account and does not operate a Subbclub-hosted data platform. Access to a VPN service is determined by the imported profile and server key.

Connection and routing controls

Profiles

Flexible profile import

Import a compatible profile from a YAML file, the clipboard, a QR code, or an eithel:// link. Multiple profiles can be stored locally and selected as needed.

Applications

Per-app routing

Route all applications, only selected applications, or all applications except a selected list through the active VPN connection.

Rules

Network routing rules

Apply signed rules supplied with the active profile for domains, IP addresses, and network ranges.

DNS

DNS selection

Use DNS servers supplied by the connection profile or provide a custom DNS configuration on the device.

Continuity

Connection recovery

Reconnect after temporary network loss and, when explicitly enabled, restore the VPN after a device restart or application update.

Controls

Android integration

Manage the connection from the application, a home-screen widget, or an Android Quick Settings tile.

Data responsibility

The client does not provide server-side storage

Eithel stores profiles, settings, connection statistics, and technical logs locally in the application's private Android storage. It does not send personal data to a Subbclub-operated application server for storage.

The organization or service provider that supplies the server key and connection profile controls the configured VPN endpoint. That server-key provider is responsible for any server-side logging, retention, disclosure, security, and user data requests associated with its infrastructure.

Getting started

A compatible profile is required

  1. Obtain a compatible profile from your service provider or organization administrator.
  2. Import the profile from a file, clipboard, QR code, or Eithel link.
  3. Confirm Android's system VPN permission when connecting for the first time.
  4. Review application routing, DNS, and reconnection settings.
  5. Connect from Eithel, the widget, or the Quick Settings tile.
